Buffalo Wallow is a triple with a diversion, two blinds and an honor using rooster pheasants. The order was right, left flyer and middle. The diversion bird is thrown as the dog returns with the third bird. The dog runs the left blind and then the right blind, before retrieving the diversion bird. It is taking between 4.5 to 6 minutes per dog.
At Flight A, they had their first dog run at 7:55 am. We have had a complete wind shift from yesterday. The wind is out of the northwest. This change has influenced the left hand blind. The scent from the flyer is blowing directly across the path to this bird. The middle and right hand bird seemed to have stayed the same. The wind seems to shift at this test site and is currently in the handler's and dog's face. The dog work continues to be good. While we watched this morning, the problems seem to come from dogs breaking, locating the diversion bird and navigating through the hazards on the blinds.
